Rabbi Sandra is a North Carolina-based singer-songwriter, activist, writer, public speaker, and nationally recognized rabbi. She brings a powerful and soulful voice to the Americana, country, and blues scene, grounded in the storytelling traditions of her Southern upbringing and Jewish heritage.

Based in Durham, NC, Rabbi Sandra’s music weaves together themes of resilience, justice, love, and hope. Whether on stage or in song, she creates moments of connection, reflection, and inspiration that leave listeners uplifted and engaged.

Her singing has taken her across the United States and internationally in Israel, England, and the Dominican Republic. Today, she’s focused on bringing her music to local audiences through intimate shows that feel like a front-porch gathering with deep soul and purpose.

She also serves as the Executive Director of Carolina Jews for Justice, where she leads statewide efforts for justice and equity rooted in Jewish values.

A thought leader and cultural critic, Rabbi Sandra has been featured on NPR and in The New York Times, and recognized by the JTA as one of the “50 Jews Everyone Should Follow on Twitter.” In 2020, she was named to the Forward 50, and in 2022 the Center for American Progress included her among “22 Faith Leaders to Watch.”
